Questions
Where are my cities saved?
On your device, in the game's own storage. The city saves itself every few minutes (Settings, Saving, Autosave) and whenever you leave the game, and you can keep more cities by name in Menu, Save and load.
Updates keep your cities. Deleting the app deletes them, and because there is no account or cloud, we cannot get them back for you.
Can I move my city to another device?
Inkwell City has no account and no cloud saves, so each device keeps its own cities. If your device backups include app data (iCloud or Google backup), restoring a backup to a new device may bring your cities along, depending on the device.
How do I restore my purchase?
The unlock is bought through the App Store or Google Play and belongs to your Apple ID or Google account, not to the device. On a new device, or after reinstalling, sign in to the store with the same account, open the game and choose Restore purchase. You are never charged twice.
What is free, and what does the unlock add?
Free: the tutorial, both coaches, walk mode, and your first map up to the Town milestone. The one-time unlock adds every map, the open-map mode, and growth all the way to City and Megacity. There are no ads and no subscription.
Which devices does it run on?
iPhone and iPad with iOS 15 or later, and Android phones and tablets with Android 7.0 or later. A living 3D city asks a lot of a device: on an older phone, or to save battery, open Settings, Graphics and choose Low quality, or lower the resolution.
Does it need the internet?
No. Everything, including the coaches' voices, is inside the app, and the game makes no network connections. It plays the same in flight mode.
How do I replay the tutorial, or quieten the coaches?
Menu, Tutorial starts the tutorial again at any time. In Settings, Coaches you can have Mira and Bram speak always, only when you tap their portrait, or never, and turn their voices off while keeping their lines as text.
What data does the game collect?
None. No account, no ads, no analytics. See the privacy policy.
