Privacy Policy
Short version: Inkwell City is an offline, single-player game. It does not collect, send or share any personal data. There are no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking. Your cities are saved only on your own device.
Who we are
Inkwell City is made by Binary Helix ("we", "us"). This policy explains what the game does with information about you, which is almost nothing.
What the game stores, and where
To remember your cities and your choices, the game saves game data on your device, in the app's private storage. This includes:
- your saved cities: the autosave and any cities you save by name, each with a small picture of the view when it was saved,
- your settings (for example graphics quality, sound volumes and how often the coaches speak),
- your progress with the tutorial and the coaches' tips.
This data never leaves your device through the game. We cannot see it, and it contains no name, email address, contact list, location, photos or device identifiers.
What we do not collect
- No accounts or sign-in.
- No analytics, crash-reporting or tracking tools.
- No advertising and no advertising identifiers.
- No location, contacts, camera, microphone or photo library access.
- No chat, multiplayer or social features.
The game makes no network connections of its own. Its art, music, sound effects and the coaches' voices are all inside the app. The Android app does not request the Internet permission; the only permission it uses is vibration, for haptic feedback. If you tap a link in the game, such as an email address or our website, it opens in your email app or browser, and that service handles whatever you choose to send.
If you take a photo of your city or export a saved city, the game hands the file to your device, and you decide where it goes.
Purchases
Inkwell City is free to start, with one in-app purchase that unlocks the full game. Apple (App Store) and Google (Google Play) sell it and process the payment under their own privacy policies. We never receive your name, card or other payment details. The game asks the store on your device whether the unlock has been bought; we receive only the standard sales reports Apple and Google give every developer, which do not identify you to us.
App stores and device backups
Apple and Google handle the download of the app under their own privacy policies, and give developers standard, aggregated statistics about installs and app quality. These do not identify you to us.
If you have device backups turned on, iOS or Android may include the game's saved cities in your personal backup, stored with your Apple or Google account. We have no access to those backups.
This website
inkwellcity.com is a plain website. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics and loads nothing from other companies: its fonts, pictures and scripts all come from our own server. Like almost every web server, ours keeps standard access logs (IP address, time, the page requested and browser type) for security and troubleshooting. We do not use them to identify or track anyone, we do not combine them with other data, and we do not sell or share them.
Children
Inkwell City is a game for all ages. Because it collects no personal information from anyone, it collects none from children either.
Deleting your data
All game data lives on your device. You can delete individual cities in the game (Save and load). To remove everything, delete the app: on iPhone and iPad, in Settings, General, iPhone or iPad Storage, Inkwell City, Delete App (offloading keeps the data); on Android, uninstall the app or clear its storage (Settings, Apps, Inkwell City, Storage, Clear storage). Because we hold no data about you, there is nothing for us to delete on our side.
Changes to this policy
If a future version of the game changes how it handles data, we will update this page and the date above before that version is released, and update the app's privacy information in the stores to match.
